The mission of NET Scotland is to encourage young people to love Jesus and embrace the life of the Church. Every year we send out a team of missionaries to witness their faith and share hope with young people.
While NET is fairly new to Scotland, the ministry was established in 1981 and since then NET teams have led over 32,000 retreats and ministered to more than 2 million young Catholics. In the last 2 years, we have worked with over 13,000 young people in Scotland.
Our team of young people is recruited from all over the world. They are trained by our Mission Partners, NET Ministries USA, in St. Paul, Minnesota, where the ministry was born.
Our mission is fulfilled by:
Young People evangelising Young People
Inspiring Young People to give a year to NET
Witness in homes via "Host Homes"
Partnership with Schools & Others in Youth Ministry
NET Scotland is under the ecclesiastical vigilance of the Bishop John Keenan, Bishop of Paisley. NET is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation funded through individual donations, retreat fees and grants and is governed by a board of directors.
